Maldives’ Beauty Captivates Global Audience at Berlinale 2025

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with key industry partners, successfully launched a high-impact advertising campaign at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), which concluded on 23rd February 2025. The initiative aimed to strengthen the Maldives’ reputation as the world’s leading luxury and leisure travel destination.

Berlinale, a globally renowned event attracting over 1.6 million attendees—including filmmakers, celebrities, and industry professionals—offered an ideal platform to present the Maldives’ unparalleled beauty. Throughout the festival, two large digital billboards displayed striking 30-second video advertisements showcasing the islands’ breathtaking landscapes.

This campaign, executed in partnership with prestigious brands such as SO/ Maldives, Resort Life Travel, Canareef Resort Maldives, Arena Hotels, Brennia Kottefaru, and Summer Island Maldives, underscored the diverse and luxurious offerings of the destination. It demonstrated Visit Maldives’ commitment to innovative global marketing strategies and its ambition to attract discerning travellers.

The 75th Berlinale was a landmark event, featuring the premiere of Tom Tykwer’s The Light and a star-studded lineup, including Hollywood icons Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, and Jessica Chastain. By aligning with such a high-profile festival, Visit Maldives successfully reached a diverse and affluent audience, reinforcing the country’s appeal as the ultimate getaway for luxury and relaxation.
