Maldives Bureau of Statistics has announced Ms. Aishath Hassan as its new Chief Statistician.
Ms. Aishath Hassan is a statistician and part-time lecturer and Maldives National University Business School. She has a BSc in Economics and Management, and an MA in Econometrics.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) is currently under Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. As per its mandate, the NBS was formed to provide support to relevant agencies in maintaining population registers, conduct population and housing census, collect, analyze and publish national statistics, compile and publish economic statistics, and maintain statistical standards and data quality in statistical collections of government agencies.
