Maldives International Arbitration Centre (MIAC) has announced the formal commencement of its services in matters of arbitration.
Parties may now submit a case to MIAC through their website. Furthermore, MIAC also provides an option for arbitral proceedings to be conducted online via integrated virtual services. According to MIAC, the launch of virtual facilities by MIAC is instrumental in ensuring broad access to their services.
Since commencing operations in April 2019, some notable highlights for MIAC include establishing a register of renowned and experienced arbitrators, the introduction of a fully functional portal for automated case management, and the publication of MIAC Arbitration Rules.
