The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), under its Visit Maldives brand, has announced a major promotional initiative in Germany ahead of ITB Berlin 2025. The campaign features the branding of 200 taxis in Berlin with breathtaking imagery of the Maldives, alongside billboards at the Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival), to enhance visibility in one of its primary source markets.
Key Features of the Campaign
The taxi campaign will run from 7 February to 13 March 2025, aligning strategically with two significant events: the Berlinale and ITB Berlin, the world’s premier travel trade show. These events are projected to attract over 600,000 attendees, ensuring maximum exposure for the Maldives in the heart of Berlin. The branded taxis will traverse the city’s busiest areas, showcasing captivating visuals and messages about the Maldives as a leading travel destination.
Additionally, prominent billboards at the Berlinale will target international film enthusiasts and visitors, further amplifying the campaign’s reach.
Elevating the Maldives Brand
This campaign, one of Visit Maldives’ largest outdoor initiatives, aims to significantly boost brand visibility among German travellers. Germany is a key market for Maldivian tourism, and this initiative marks a historic milestone in the corporation’s promotional efforts in Berlin.
Beyond outdoor promotions, Visit Maldives will actively engage with the travel trade and media at ITB Berlin through seminars, panel discussions, and participation in IMM Germany—a dedicated event for media and journalists.
While a Networking Evening is planned during ITB Berlin, the much-anticipated Maldivian Night will now be held at the Arabian Travel Market 2025 in Dubai, scheduled for late April.
