Maldives Sees 94% Increase in Imported Goods in November

Statistics released by Maldives Customs show that the CIF value of goods imported to Maldives in November 2021 increased by 94 percent compared to the same period last year.

It also show that while goods worth MVR 2.1 billion were imported to the Maldives in November 2020, this figure has increased to MVR 4 billion during November this year.

The revenue generated by the state increased by 17% in November 2021 compared to the same period last year. While the state received MVR 276 million in November 2020, the revenue generated this year increased to MVR 322 million.

The highest number of goods imported to Maldives last month were from China, Oman, UAE and India. While MVR 603 million was imported from China, goods worth MVR 529 million were imported from Oman.

Goods worth MVR 463 million were imported from UAE and MVR 460 million from India last month.
