Maldives Sets Sights on Indian Tourist Market with Multi-City Roadshow

The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), in partnership with the National Hotels & Guest House Association of Maldives (NHGAM) and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), has announced a roadshow across major cities in India to enhance tourism from the subcontinent.

In a press release shared today, MATATO revealed that the roadshow will kick off in Bangalore on July 22nd, followed by Mumbai on July 24th and culminating in New Delhi on July 26th. The roadshow aims to showcase the Maldives as a premier global tourist destination.

MATATO highlights that India, known for its growing outbound tourism market, is important for Maldivian tourism.

The roadshow will feature insightful presentations by industry leaders, highlighting the latest developments in Maldivian tourism, tailor-made travel packages, and exclusive deals designed for the Indian market, according to the press release.

Attendees can directly engage with stakeholders from Maldivian resorts, guesthouses, liveaboards, tour operators, and airline representatives at the road show.

MATATO further states the roadshow has garnered support from prominent entities such as the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), which represents over 1,800 tour operators nationwide.

Additionally, MATATO said organizers have sought support from the Indian High Commission in the Maldives and expressed their enthusiasm for the roadshow, stating it as an ideal platform to strengthen bilateral tourism ties, showcase Maldivian hospitality, and unveil diverse travel opportunities offered by the island nation.
