Maldives to Recieve 50 Million Dollar Loan From OFID

Maldives is set to receive a loan of 50 million dollars by OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) which is to be used for the infrastructural development of 13 islands.

The decision was made during the 166th session of the governing board of OFID, held in the headquarters of OPEC Fund for International Development, located in Vienna, Australia.

This loan would benefit a population of around 20,000 Maldivians and the loan is set to be spent on the development of harbors, the facilities of the health centers and water and sewage systems of the islands as per the press release by OPEC.

Decisions were made regarding loans worth more than 50 million dollars to be given to different countries around the globe, during the aforementioned 166th session of the governing board of OFID.
