In order to allow Maldivians to travel to Russia visa-free, an agreement is to be signed between both countries as per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honorable Abdulla Shahid flew to Russia on 24th June 2019 where he will be signing the aforementioned agreement with the Foreign Minister of Russia. As per this agreement, Maldivians will receive a 90-day visa upon arrival to Russia in the future.
In this trip, the Minister will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honorable Lavrov and discussions will be held on ways to strength international relations between both countries.
