MATATO to participate in Saudi Arabia’s largest travel event – Riyadh Travel Fair 2019

Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators, MATATO will be participating in Riyadh Fair, hosting a destination stand for Maldives in Suadi Arabia’s leading travel and trade event. Riyadh Travel Fair will take place in Al Faisaliah Tower Hotel, Riyadh, the capital Saudi Arabia, from 20th – 22nd March 2019. This is the fourth year that MATATO is taking part in this event.

Organized by ASAS Exhibitions Riyadh Fair is Considered as a significant annual event where the leading travel and tourism companies in Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries gather with exhibitors representing tourist promotion authorities and tourist companies at the Arab and International levels. The Fair is considered a market for the introduction of the tourist products, services, and investments provided the most significant tourist companies in the world.

The show has as objective to allow the opportunity for the different tourist and travel organizations introduce their activities and services offer investment opportunities in the tourism sector within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Gulf Cooperation Council Countries to the Arab and International tourist investment leading companies and exchanging experiences in the field of tourist products and services promotion and marketing. The Show gather the entire effective and essential regional organizations in tourist field under one ceiling, displaying specialized tourist presentations and provide special programs for the travel agents and purchaser from the different regions in the world.

Riyadh is one of the richest cities in the Middle East and the 80th richest city in the world. Once a small walled city, Riyadh has developed into a dynamic metropolis over the years. Along with the urban areas of Dhahran, Dammam, Khobar and Jeddah, Riyadh has become a focal point for both travel and trade.

Middle-east accounts to 3.4 percent of Tourist arrivals in Maldives according to 2016 statistics and 1,389,54215,700 tourists visited Maldives from this region in 2017, which is an 8% growth compared to 2016 and 10% growth compared to 2015.

MATATO intends to make best of this opportunity, and give opportunity for Maldivian travel businesses to make direct networking with the Middle East market and other emerging markets around the world.
