Ministry of Fisheries Launches Rescue Diver Programme

The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has initiated the Rescue Diver Programme to address safety concerns fishermen encounter during diving activities. 

The objective is to ensure that at least one crew member on each fishing vessel in the Maldives attains a ‘rescue diver’ level qualification. Consultancy service providers interested in participating are invited to attend informative sessions and submit proposals.

  • Submit qualification certificates and evidence documents for experience.

  • Outline safety protocols, emergency procedures, and risk management strategies during training.
  • Detail equipment maintenance and inspection procedures.

  • Explain how participant progress and proficiency will be assessed.
