Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture has kicked off a Panel Discussion with Maldives National University (MNU) on this year’s World Food Day theme “Healthy Diets for a #ZeroHunger World” today.
Organized by the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture in association with Maldives National University (MNU) and Food & Culture Organization of the United Nations, the panel discussion intends to call for action across sectors to make healthy and sustainable diets affordable and accessible to everyone. At the same time, it calls on everyone to start thinking about what we eat.
Panelists for the discussion include; Adam Manik, Food Technologist, Deputy Director-General, Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Agriculture— Aishath Shaheen, Nutritionist, Faculty of Health Sciences, Maldives National University — Hussain Rasheed Moosa, Deputy Director-General, Ministry of Education—Hussain Rasheed, Managing Director, Pesterminators Pvt. Ltd & Fintegic Investments Pvt. Ltd—and Aminath Iasha Hussain, Dietitian, Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
The discussion is moderated by Ibrahim Shabau, Director General of Agriculture—Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Agriculture.
Minister Zaha Waheed also addressed the Ministry on the occasion of the #WorldFoodDay. She stressed the importance of healthy eating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
