Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) launched their ‘MMA Strategic Plan’ for 2022 on 22nd July by Minister of Finance Ahmed Munavvar and Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer.
Addressing the audience during the ceremony, Maldives Governor Ahmed Naseer expressed his hopes on the country moving towards a digital payment method and further added that with proper utilization of the technological advancements, this goal is attainable.
Governor also added that this goal will only be reached with the support of government institutions. “One of our most important goals is to shape the financial sector to easily cater to people’s financial needs”, governor mentioned.
MMA’s Strategic Plan includes stabilizing the monetary policy; stabilize MMA’s governance; to build an efficient payment system; develop MMA’s banking facilities provided to the government; and to make steady economical surveys and statistical reports.
