Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that 26 ferry service trips have been cancelled today, 23 of which are due to bad weather.
One ferry service trip was cancelled due to technical issues, while two were cancelled due to islands being under monitoring.
Of the 32 scheduled ferry services today, only 6 are travelling.
Maldives Meteorological Service had issued a yellow alert in the area between Haa Alif and Thaa Atoll, stating that strong winds of 25 – 30 mph and gusts of 50 mph with rough seas are expected.
