Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced the completion of the K. Himmafushi Harbor Development (Phase 2).
Scope of works include harbor dredging operations of 19,895cbm, channel dredging operations of 9,900cbm, and construction of a 251m quay wall, a 15m breakwater, and a 311m revetment. MTCC also installed a concrete pavement, whereby the new harbour has a pavement of 1,443sqm compared to the 1200sqm pavement of the old harbour.
The project also involved the construction of a bridge (25m x 6m), construction of a jetty (63m x 4m), and the installation of harbor streetlights, navigation lights and mooring blocks.
According to MTCC, the value of the project is MVR 30.5 million.
