Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to implement shore protection projects in two islands in Thaa Atoll.
Firstly, MTCC signed with Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure towards implementing shore protection at Th. Gaadhifushi. CEO Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC and Director General Ms. Fathimath Shaana Farooq signed on behalf of the MNPHI.
Project works involve construction of a 500m revetment and construction of 15m groyne with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The value of the project is MVR 17.69 million and the project is to be completed within 180 days.
MTCC also signed with the Housing Ministry towards implementing shore protection at Th. Buruni. Once again, CEO Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC and Director General Ms. Fathimath Shaana Farooq signed on behalf of the MNPHI.
Project works involve 21,181.80cbm of beach filling, construction of a 220m revetment and construction of 369m breakwater. The value of the project is MVR 28.87 million and the project is to be completed within 240 days.
