Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has introduced ‘Dhathuru Card’ for those traveling in between Villingili and Male. The card was launched during a ceremony held to celebrate the 18 year anniversary of MTCC Villingili ferry services.
In order to make it as convenient as possible, MTCC has made it possible for customers can apply for the card online or choose a ferry terminal of their choice and take the card then and there, as per Mr. Mohamed Nazim, Assistant General Manager of MTCC’s Transport Division. Mr. Nazim further stated that the ‘Dhathuru Card’ can be used for bus travels in the future as well.
MTCC has been providing ‘Dhathuru Card’ services for Hulhumale ferry users since 2013 and has been doing so since the opening of Sinamale bridge. They then discontinued the services and has not restarted it yet. Mr. Nazim affirmed that the usage of ‘Dhathuru Card’ will begin once more on Februaury 2019 for those traveling in between Male and Hulhumale.
