Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure – Maldives, to facilitate the Dh. Kudahuvadhoo Harbour Development Project. The signing ceremony saw CEO Adam Azim representing MTCC, while Ms Fathimath Shaana Farooq, DG, represented the Ministry.
The project encompasses various tasks, including maintenance dredging operations totalling 52,386 cubic metres, channel dredging operations amounting to 5545 cubic metres, and new harbour basin dredging operations covering 50,736 cubic metres.
Structural elements involve a 180-metre breakwater, a 115-metre revetment, an outer revetment comprised of a 321-metre sand-filled breakwater, an inner revetment made up of a 266-metre sand-filled breakwater, and a 372-metre quay wall.
Furthermore, the project includes the placement of mooring buoys, a concrete bridge with dimensions of (70m x 2m) in width, a concrete jetty extending (90m x 2m) in width, the covering of an area measuring 2265 square metres with paving, and the establishment of harbour lights.
The value of the project is MVR 83.33 million.
