Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has provided updates on the harbor development projects at Sh. Foakaidhoo and N. Miladho.
According to MTCC, they have commenced installation of precast concrete blocks required for quay wall construction of Sh. Foakaidhoo Harbor on 1st February 2022. The construction of breakwater and revetment is currently ongoing.
The scope of the project includes, dredging operations of 45,795cbm, construction of a 464m quay wall, a 100m revetment, a 507m breakwater, installation of 2320sqm harbor pavement, installation of streetlights and navigation lights. This project is valued at MVR 52.7 million.
Additionally, MTCC also stated that work on design and build of N. Miladhoo Harbor is well underway, with overall 90% project progress. Final shipment of rock boulders required for the project work have been delivered to the site on 1st February 2022 and harbor pavement installation has been completed. The construction of revetment is currently ongoing.
The N. Miladhoo Harbour project consists of; dredging and excavation operations of 37,222cbm; construction of a 209m breakwater; a 152m revetment; a 286m quay wall; 1,430sqm of paved area; installation of navigation lights and streetlights. This project is valued at MVR 45.26 million.
