Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Tuesday, to develop and upgrade harbors in seven islands.
The CEO Shahid Hussain Moosa, on behalf of MTC, signed the agreement with Director-General Fathimath Shana Farooq, representing the ministry, at a special ceremony.
MTCC will be developing harbors under the ‘design and build’ policy in Landhoo, Noonu Atoll for MVR 35 million, for which the development is scheduled to be completed within 11 months. And Mandhoo, Alif Dhaalu Atoll for MVR 37 million, which should be completed in one year and two months respectively as per the contract.
Hulhudheli in Dhaalu Atoll, Dharanboodhoo in Faafu Atoll, Rasmaadhoo in Raa Atoll, and Bileffahi and Lhaimagu in Shaviyani Atoll are the places where the harbor project costing MVR 183 million will be carried out.
MVR 258 million is the total amount of cost for the seven projects.
