Parliament Public Accounts Committee has approved MVR 93 million as the Auditor General’s Office budget for the upcoming year.
A total reduction of MVR 1,750,052 were made to various parts of the budget presented by the Auditor General’s Office for 2023. The budget approved today included MVR 93,400,00 while the estimated budget was MVR 95,150,052.
The committee made the most deduction from the costs of training and had deducted 42% from the costs of training that was submitted to them.
From the total budget of MVR 93 million presented by the Auditor General’s Office, MVR 61 million is allocated as the expenditure incurred to acquire raw materials for running the office and MVR 32.4 million as the public sector investment program.
