President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday constituted the National Job Center under the Ministry of Economic Development. President Solih established the new authority under the discretion vested in him by Section 116 (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives.
The National Job Centre was mandated with bringing together employers and job seekers, providing information and insight on employment opportunities available for the working-age population, conducting studies of the labour market and providing recommendations to relevant authorities, and ensuring sustainable enforcement of employment policies.
According to a directive issued by the President’s Office, the number 490 should be used in all correspondence addressed to the National Job Center as per the numbering system for state agencies.
