NewYork Paid $69 Million For Ventilators Which Was Never Delivered

NewYork state has paid $ 69.1million to a Silicon Valley-based electrical engineer Yaron Oren-Pines, to procure ventilators that never arrived.

On March 30th, NY state paid Yaron Oren-Pines 69.1 million for 1450 ventilators, and after a month NY terminated the contract. Currently, the state is trying to claw back the cash.

It is unclear how he got the deal to procure ventilators with no background in medical supplies.

According to some reports, he got the procurement deal after sending a tweet to President Donald Trump claiming that he can provide ventilators. Also, there are reports stating that he was recommended by the White House coronavirus task force.

Oren -Pines has refused to provide any comments regarding the issue.
