Seven state-owned enterprises (SOEs) are currently undergoing a review process by the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) for the selection of managing directors.
The current Managing Director of WAMCO is Mujuthaba Jaleel, who previously served as the CEO of NSPA during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen. Additionally, there is a proposal for the appointment of Muaz Mohamed Rasheed, the former Madavelli MP, as the Managing Director of Fenaka.
Former Member of Parliament from Billedhoo Constituency Ahmed Mubeen has been appointed as the Managing Director of Regional Airports. Felidhoo MP Fazal Rasheed has been appointed as the Managing Director of Urbanco, and former member of the Broadcasting Commission Zeena Zahir has been appointed as the Managing Director of PSM.
The NSPA Managing Director post is reportedly reserved for Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and People’s National Congress (PNC) Spokesperson Heena Waleed. Additionally, the Managing Director position at Aasandha has been offered to former MP Mohamed Abdul Kareem (Rukuma).
