President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Uz Ahmed Nashath as the legal field member of the Privatization and Corporatization Board, exercising the authority granted to him by Law No. 3/2013 (Privatization, Corporatization, Monitoring, and Evaluation of Government Businesses Act).
Uz Nashath holds a Master of Laws in International Law from Middlesex University, UK. Before assuming this new role, he previously held the position of State Counsel at the Attorney General’s Office.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB), comprising seven members, was formed under the ‘Law of Privatization, Corporatization, Monitoring, and Evaluation of Government Businesses’ (Law no. 3/2013).
Its mandate involves overseeing privatisation, corporatisation, monitoring, evaluation, and the sale of public shares in government companies, government shareholding companies, and commercial government enterprises, as outlined in the aforementioned law and its associated procedures.
