At a ceremony held on Tuesday morning at the President’s Office, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Hussain Niyaazy as the Auditor General, in accordance with Article 210 of the constitution. Hussain Niyaazy took the oath of office before the Supreme Court Justice Uz. Mahaz Ali Zahir.
Hussain Niyaazy is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), from the United Kingdom since 2008. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Bangalore, India.
Hussain Niyaazy filled several posts in the Auditor General’s Office including the post of Assistant Auditor General, Audit Manager and Assistant Auditor. Niyaazy is currently a council member of the Maldives Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is the Chairperson of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives’ Admission and Licensing Committee, among other positions in the profession.
