President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has arrived in New York City to participate in the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The President is accompanied on this trip by First Lady Fazna Ahmed and a high-level Maldivian delegation.
Upon landing at John F Kennedy Airport, the President was received by the President of the General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid, and Ms Thilmeeza Hussain, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Maldives to the United Nations.

The President, along with First Lady Fazna Ahmed and the high-level Maldivian delegation currently visiting New York, also attended a special dinner hosted by Abdulla Shahid. The dinner was held at the PGA Residence in New York City.
President Solih will deliver his address at the 76th session of the UNGA on Tuesday, 21st September 2021. He is scheduled to conclude this trip and return to the Maldives on Tuesday, 28th September 2021.
