President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is set to participate in the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), marking his first appearance at the global forum since assuming office. The President will deliver a statement at the General Assembly and engage in an open debate at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
In conjunction with the UNGA, President Muizzu will also take part in the “Summit of the Future,” a high-level side-line event aimed at bringing world leaders together to forge a new international consensus on delivering a better present and safeguarding the future. The summit seeks to address the challenges of effective global cooperation in an atmosphere of mistrust and outdated international structures that no longer reflect today’s political and economic realities.
On 26th September, the President will deliver a lecture at Robertson Hall, Princeton University in New Jersey. This event is part of the Dean’s Leadership Series and will see President Muizzu addressing students on topics likely centred around global cooperation and leadership.
These events will provide President Muizzu with valuable platforms to engage with world leaders on pressing global issues. On the sidelines of the UNGA, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings, fostering international relationships and exploring opportunities for collaboration.
