Report Stating Malaysia Among most visited Asian Countries

According to the report of the World Tourism Organization in 2017, South East Asian regions had most visitors. The Asia Pacific region with 30% of world tourism sector receipts has outperformed all other regions in growth by having a 7% increase in tourists every year compared to just 4% of the world average.

Malaysia has attracted 26.75 million tourists with its easy visa policy enabling more convenience while travelling.

The World Tourism sector has been the where tourist arrivals increased from 25 million tourists in 1950 to 1,235 million tourists in 2016. China has been on top of the rankings with 59.27 million tourists followed by Thailand and Malaysia while Japan and India were on the 4th and 5th rankings.

The 27 billion dollar earning from over 10 million tourists enabled India to climb over 25 places in the Tourism competitive index while South Korea fell to the 6th position due to the boycott by Chinese tour groups regarding the installation of the Thaad system.

According to the statistics of Maldives tourism Ministry, 1,382,542 tourists have visited the Maldives during the year 2017.
