State Electric Company (STELCO) has announced its plan to assemble electric cars for the market in Maldives.
It was announced at the opening ceremony of the company’s new ‘STEWO’ workshop, which will offer various engineering solutions for all power system needs. The workshop was inaugurated by Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail and STELCO’s Managing Director Hassan Mughnee.
Mughnee stated that the engineers at the STEWO workshop are extremely experienced in their field, and that the company plans to assemble electric cars in the future. He noted that this was aimed at increasing the number of ecofriendly vehicles in the country.
The services provided at the STEWO workshop include assembly, servicing, cleaning and modification of generators.
