STELCO has announced that all households will receive a discount of at least 10% on their electricity bills during the month of Ramadan. The initiative, which follows the same structure as last year, is part of efforts to ease financial burdens during the holy month.
The company shared details of its Ramadan preparations with the media, confirming that electricity consumption readings will be taken separately for the month. The first reading is scheduled for tomorrow, with the final reading to be taken on the last day of Ramadan.
According to STELCO, the discount will be determined based on electricity consumption over the past year, with a minimum reduction of 10% applied. Higher consumption levels may qualify for additional discounts.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reiterated the government’s commitment to continuing electricity and water bill discounts during Ramadan.
