The latest statistics by the Ministry of Tourism reveal that as of 15th March, Maldives has welcomed a total of 235,758 tourists so far this year.
The daily average for the year is now 3,230 arrivals. The average duration of stay is 9 days.
The top source market for tourist arrivals is India with a market share of 23.6 percent, followed by Russia with 21.8 percent. Ukraine stands in third place with a market share of 6.6 percent. Other top source markets include Kazakhstan, Germany, Romania, Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, and USA.
Furthermore, as of 14th March, there are currently 148 resorts and 376 guesthouses in operation. Meanwhile, 11 hotels and 136 safari vessels are also currently operating. It is reported that a total of 45,225 beds are currently open for tourists.
