Maldives Transport Authority has announced the timings during which cargo transport can be done during the month of Ramazan. In addition. the carrying of cargo in hours other than allocated times from 6th May to 7th June is prohibited as per Transport Authority.
According to Transport Authority, the timings that cargo can be transported are from 09:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs and 21:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs. During these time periods, all types and classes of cargo may be transported. However, the Ministry clarified that water and cooking gas can only be carried from 09:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs on a vehicle that carries a load of cargo lesser than 350 kilos.
Timings for carrying cargo across the bridge is from 09:00 hard to 15:00 and 01:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs. Furthermore, those who carry cargo across the bridge are required to use the ring road only, as per the Transport Authority. In addition, the authority has also declared that the riding of any heavy vehicles on the bridge during ramazan is prohibited.
