India has appointed a new ambassador for Maldives. With regards to the “Times of India”, the current ambassador Mr. Akilesh Mishra will be replaced by Mr. Sunjay Sudhir. Mr. Sunjay had been filling the position of Joint Secretary General of Ministry of Petroleum and Gas of India before the appointment as the ambassador for Maldives.
The current ambassador, Mr. Akilesh was appointed on 2016, during the reign of former President, Honourable Abdulla Yameen. Prior to his designation, he had also filled the position of Consul General of India in Toronto, Canada.
