IndiGo Airlines is set to begin flight operations between Pune and Maldives at the end of March as per the company.
With the start of flight operations between Maldives and Pune, Maldives would be the first international destination of IndiGo Airlines from Pune. These low-cost carrier flights are transit flights and would halt in Bengaluru before flying to Maldives as per the popular news outlet of India, The Times Of India.
IndiGo is the largest airline in India considering the number of passengers and the fleet size with their headquarters located in Haryana, India. In addition to this, IndiGo is the seventh largest airline in Aisa. As per the statistics, a total of 47 million passengers traveled by the IndiGo airline in 2007.
The number of Indian Airlines interested in operating their flights to Maldives has been increasing with the increasing count of tourist arrival to Maldives from India. Indian airline, GoAir began its flight operation from Mumbai to Maldives at the end of 2018.
