Velana International Airport (VIA) served 1.8 million travelers and observed 21,000 air traffic movements within the first four months of 2019 according to statistics by the government.
The Ministry of Finance’s economic indicator for the first four months of the year show that March brought in the highest air traffic with 5,556 flight movements. The statistics show that VIA observed 9,702 international flight movements while domestic movements numbered at 11,306 during that period.
International travelers amounted to 1.4 million during the first four months, while there were 400,000 domestic travelers.
