Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation has announced that talks are underway for the Haa Dhaalu Naagoshi resort project to be switched to MITDC’s tenure.
MITDC’s Managing Director Mohamed Shahid informed news media outlets that discussions to switch the ownership of the island from Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) to MITDC is expected to be completed within a month, and that negotiations were already underway with several enthusiastic potential investors.
MITDC was established by President Yameen Abdul Gayoom in 2016 in order to ‘enhance Tourism sector gains and promote participation of small & medium sized businesses in the sector via Integrated Tourism Development Projects.’
