Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced that the first shipment of rock boulders required for breakwater construction of Sh. Foakaidhoo Harbor have been delivered to the project site on 24th March 2021.
Additionally, dredging works for the new harbor basin is progressing well with 58% completion.
The Sh. Foakiadhoo Harbour project consists of new harbor basin dredging operations of 39,995cbm; existing harbor basin dredging operations of 1800cbm; channel dredging operations of 4000cbm; construction of a 507m breakwater; a 100m revetment; a 464m quay wall; 2,320 sqm of paved area and installation of navigation lights and streetlights.
According to MTCC, the value of the project is MVR 52.7 million.
