Commercial Bank of Maldives (CBM) has launched new products targeted for women and female entrepreneurs, named ‘Kulhadhaana Anhenun’.
A special savings account for women, and a loan scheme for female entrepreneurs was launched at a special ceremony held at Champa Central Hotel. The Chief Guest of the event was Ministry of Economic Development’s Registrar of Companies, Ms. Maryam Visam, and woman entrepreneur Ms. Cyza of Cyza Beauty Salon attended as a special guest.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Visam noted that new product such as these is a gateway for women to become more empowered and that despite some obvious obstacles, more women are entering the business community and becoming successful in their own right.
