CEO of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Adam Azim and team has yesterday inspected the progress of the design and build of 17 speed ferries under “Integrated National Public Ferry Network Project”.
MTCC signed an agreement with Gulf Craft Maldives to design and build the speed ferries on 11 April 2021.
The newly built ferries will be equipped to achieve thrice the speed of the ferries currently being used and would accommodate 50 passengers. The high-speed ferries will be designed in such a way that it will be convenient for all passengers including differently-abled people to board the vessel.
MTCC has already initiated the establishment of ferry terminals for the integrated national public ferry network with the groundbreaking of the first ferry terminal at Ha. Hoarafushi.
The integrated national public ferry network will introduce reliable, efficient, affordable, convenient, and sustainable passenger ferry service to customers.
