The latest Weekly COVID-19 Spending Report publicized by the Ministry of Finance reveals that as of 29 July 2021, total spending towards COVID-19 health and social efforts stood at MVR 1,979.2 million.
This is a 0.1% increase from the week before. In this review period, 36.2 % of total health and social spending was committed-spending.
In terms of week-on-week spending, Hulhumale’ Hospital registered the highest spending compared to its peers. The spending was
mainly on supplies and requisites. The next significant spending was supplies and requisites by IGMH. Over the review period, other agencies only reported small incremental changes in their spending.
Furthermore, the report also shows that as of 29 July 2021, total economic response spending stood at MVR 1,772.8 million.
Total disbursements made to ERP schemes stood at MVR1,772.8 million; decreased from the week before. Over the review period, no further disbursements were made towards the ERP schemes.
However, the report noted that additional allocations may not yet be reflected in the Public Bank Account. Hence, data is likely to vary as reconciliation work is ongoing.
