MTCC Awarded 3 Shore Protection Projects, Worth a Total of MVR 74 Million

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded 3 shore protection projects in various islands by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. CEO Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC and Ms. Zeeniya Hameed, Permanent Secretary signed on behalf of Ministry.

Firstly, MTCC signed with the Ministry towards implementing S. Hithadhoo Shore Protection Project. MP for North Hithadhoo Mohamed Aslam graced the ceremony. The value of the project is MVR 11.64 million and the project is to be completed within 165 days. Scope of works include 6891 cbm of beach filling, construction of a 100m breakwater and a 570m geo bag structures.

MTCC also signed towards implementing B. Dharavandhoo Shore Protection Project. The value of the project is MVR 22.14 million and the project is to be completed within 180 days. Scope of works include 10,800 cbm of beach filling, construction of a 490m breakwater and a 96m revetment.

Lastly, MTCC signed towards implementing B. Kendhoo Shore Protection Project. The value of the project is MVR 39.99 million and the project is to be completed within 365 days. Scope of works for the project include dredging operations of swimming track, construction of a 803m breakwater and a 80m revetment.
