Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) specified that they have cleared a total of 140 containers at their port between 6pm on April 11 and 6pm on April 12. Furthermore, they also have cleared perishable cargo which included eggs, onions and watermelons.
This specific operation required 95 20-foot containers and 45 40-foot containers. They had cleared shipments of perishable cargo, which consisted of; 45 bags of cabbage, 3,958 bags of onion, 160 bags of potato, 20 bags of pumpkin, 640 bags of watermelon, 108 boxes of tomato, 472 bunches of banana, 3,714 cartons of eggs, 96 cartons of salt, 20 crates of mango, 4 crates of sweet melon and 1 gunny of lemon.
MPL has affirmed that they aim to clear cargo as quickly and efficiently as they possibly can, and is now releasing daily cargo clearance statistics via its social media channels.
