The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has confirmed a payment of MVR 25,000 per employee as part of its annual bonus distribution for the previous year. The company communicated through an official circular released today that this bonus amount will be provided to employees who were actively engaged in service during the preceding year.
Employees who completed a minimum of six months of service during the previous year, as well as those who resigned or terminated their employment within that period, will receive a bonus proportionate to the duration of their service. Regrettably, employees who were subject to disciplinary actions resulting in dismissal last year will not be eligible for the bonus.
Disbursement of the bonus for the previous year will be initiated and credited to employees’ accounts by the latest, this coming Tuesday. MACL, the largest employer among state-owned enterprises, reinstated the annual bonus program last year after a two-year suspension. The bonus amount was increased to MVR 25,000 per employee, a significant rise from the previous amount of 7,870.79 MVR.
