The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, has announced its support for a series of events aimed at strengthening cultural tourism ties between the Maldives and China. These events, taking place on the 14th and 15th of February 2024, are organized by the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives and a delegation from China’s Fujian Province.
The collaboration follows the recent launch of the first direct flight between Fujian Province and the Maldives, a milestone celebrated by MMPRC. The events fall under the China-Maldives Cultural Exchange, providing a platform to enhance cooperation in cultural tourism, trade, and investment.
Highlights of the two-day program include the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism Forum, featuring dignitaries from both nations. Additionally, a Chinese Folk Music Flash Mob and a Fujian Culture and Tourism Promotion Event will showcase Chinese cultural experiences.
MMPRC actively promotes the Maldives as a top destination within the Chinese market. The organization sees these cultural exchange initiatives as a crucial step in fostering deeper bilateral relations and creating mutually beneficial opportunities for both countries.
