The Leadership Summit Asia 2024, a two-day conference organized by World of Tomorrow, concluded on the 23rd at Villa Nautica in the Maldives. Business leaders, HR professionals, and policymakers convened to explore leadership strategies for a rapidly evolving workplace.
The summit delved into the complexities of leading in an AI-powered world. Terence Mauri, CEO and Founder of Hack-future Lab kicked off the second day by discussing the potential benefits of disruption. David Cory, a leading emotional intelligence expert, followed with insights on the importance of emotional intelligence within AI-integrated work environments.
Employee well-being was a core focus, with a panel featuring Dr Arif Mohamed (Consultant Psychiatrist, IGMH), Dr Fathimath Sofiya Rasheed (Senior Social Worker, IGMH), and Yasmeen Khawaja (Learning and development expert). The session was moderated by Hinna Khalid, Managing Director of Kazu Maldives.
Mohamed Aalim, Group Director of Talent & Culture at Villa Resorts, presented on building resilience for future success, while a panel moderated by Aiesha Adnan (COO of SparkHub) tackled cybersecurity leadership with Dr. Mohamed Kinaanath (Minister of State for Homeland Security & Technology), Mohamed Musad (CTO of Dhiraagu), and Ibrahim Shafeeq (CIO of Villa Group).
Further exploring AI’s workplace impact, Terence Mauri and Aiesha Adnan led a discussion on AI synergy. Mohamed Aalim moderated this panel.
Other key presentations included Robert Garcia (VP, International Coaching Federation) on effective communication and Mohamed Misthoh (Co-Owner of Total Fitness Group) on future-proofing workplaces through strategic thinking. Ahmad Al-Assad (L&D Creative Solutions, The Talentology Training Company) concluded the event with a talk on using strengths-based leadership to drive organizational success.
