Gov’t Prioritises Investor Opportunities at AHICE Maldives Summit

In a keynote speech at the “AHICE Maldives Hotel Investment Summit,” Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal emphasised the government’s unwavering commitment to creating an investor-friendly environment. The event, organised by the Australian Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition (AHICE), drew significant attention from the tourism sector, with 140 industry professionals in attendance.

Minister Faisal highlighted the strategic measures taken to foster a conducive atmosphere for investors, underscoring the intrinsic link between the success of the tourism industry and robust investment. “The success of the tourism industry is linked to successful investments. The new tourism law will provide additional facilities and opportunities for investors,” he stated.

He further noted the considerable advantages of investing in the Maldives, citing the nation’s esteemed reputation and high demand among tourists as pivotal factors. “The Maldives is one of the top markets in the region, and the timeframe for return on investments is relatively short,” he added, reinforcing the lucrative nature of the Maldivian tourism sector.

Minister Faisal also highlighted the importance of eco-friendly initiatives. He affirmed that service providers are increasingly keen on integrating sustainable practices, reflecting a collective commitment to environmental stewardship.
