Ooredoo Nation has successfully wrapped up its inaugural Inter-Office eSports Championship, which took place from 13th to 18th August 2024. The event featured intense competitions in PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and EAFC, drawing participation from 33 different corporate offices.
The championship served as a platform for employees to showcase their gaming skills while promoting teamwork and camaraderie among participants. The tournament’s atmosphere was marked by a spirit of friendly competition, further strengthening the ties within the e-sports community.
Throughout the week-long event, teams from various corporate entities battled it out, with winners being awarded exciting prizes during a special closing ceremony. The ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of the participants but also highlighted the significance of such initiatives in fostering a vibrant and inclusive workplace culture.
In PUBG Mobile, the Bank of Maldives emerged as the champion team, securing a prize of MVR 10,000. EM Enterprises took the runner-up position, while the Customs team secured third place. Ahmed Ikram from EM Enterprises was recognised as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and received a prize of MVR 1,000.
The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competition saw the Maldives National Air Traffic Services clinch the championship, earning MVR 4,500. Bank of Maldives was the runner-up, with MACL Team 2 finishing in third place. Aiman Rasheed from Maldives National Air Traffic Services was named MVP, receiving MVR 1,000.
In the EAFC category, Janaan Mohamed from K&F Holdings took the championship title, winning MVR 10,000. The second place went to Ismail Nashau from Bank of Maldives, and Jailam Mohamed from MIRA secured third place.
As Ooredoo continues to prioritise digital innovation and employee engagement, the success of this championship sets a promising precedent for future events.
