A new water park is set to be developed on Kamadhoo island in Baa Atoll, with the Island Council now inviting tenders for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) related to the project.

The water park is expected to feature slides and various water sports activities, with additional facilities allowing visitors to rent rooms for day-use. This expansion marks the second phase of the larger development plan.

Zareer also revealed that a contractor has already been appointed to supply the necessary equipment for the water park, with the first shipments expected to arrive within the next 40 days. Funding for the project has been secured through donations from private contributors, further bolstering the island’s tourism infrastructure.

The council’s current focus is to complete the EIA process before moving forward with construction. Kamadhoo’s water park project is expected to elevate the island’s appeal, tapping into the growing demand for unique tourist experiences in the Maldives.
