The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Maldives to the United Nations and two industry partners, participated in the Travel & Adventure Show 2025 in New York City. The event, held from January 25th to 26th, featured Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives and Diamonds Thudufushi Beach & Water Villas, providing a platform to promote the Maldives as a premier travel destination.
The Travel & Adventure Show is one of North America’s leading travel industry events, attracting travel enthusiasts, industry professionals, and tourism organisations. The Maldives’ participation aimed to enhance destination awareness, engage with the US travel trade sector, and strengthen its position as a top-of-mind destination for American travellers. Attendees received key updates on Maldivian tourism offerings, and promotional materials were distributed to both travel trade professionals and consumers.
The event also facilitated networking opportunities between international tourism suppliers and buyers, allowing industry partners to highlight their latest offerings. This participation aligns with Visit Maldives’ broader strategy for the US market, which recently included the successful completion of the Discover Maldives webinar series. Additional initiatives planned for 2025 include PR campaigns, partnerships with travel agents, familiarisation trips, virtual campaigns, and the Maldives Roadshow across the USA and Canada.
The United States remains a key market for Maldivian tourism, with over 62,000 American visitors recorded last year. As consumer demand for luxury and sustainable travel continues to rise, events such as the Travel & Adventure Show provide a valuable opportunity to tap into this growing market.
