Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), the operator of the national airline Maldivian, has obtained the prestigious EASA Part-145 certification, marking a significant advancement in the airline’s maintenance capabilities. This approval makes IASL the first aviation maintenance provider in the Maldives to receive certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), enhancing its ability to service European-registered aircraft.
The certification adds to IASL Engineering’s growing list of approvals, bringing its total Part-145 accreditations to 12, including approvals from the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority and 11 other foreign aviation regulators. With this latest achievement, IASL is set to strengthen its role in the global aviation maintenance sector, offering certified line maintenance services to international carriers operating at Velana International Airport (MLE).

IASL Engineering currently provides maintenance services for a diverse fleet, including Airbus A320, A330, and A350 aircraft, Boeing 737, 767, 777, and 787 models, as well as Cessna 150/152F, Tecnam P2006T, DHC-6, DHC-8, and ATR-42/72 aircraft. The EASA Part-145 certification is expected to attract new international airline partners seeking high-quality maintenance services in the Maldives.
